. Hello! I am Fasahat H. Wasty, MD, MS, FRCPC, FCAP, FASCP. I am the author and webmaster of this site. I am a pathologist certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and the Royal College of Physicians of Canada in General Pathology. I am a fellow member of CAP, ASCP and CAP (Canada). Currently I am working as a General Pathologist in a community hospital in Saskatchewan, Canada. I was born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan. I completed my medical education in Karachi, Pakistan at Dow Medical College with a medical degree from the University of Karachi in 1986. In 1989 I migrated to Canada, got involved in research at McGill University, Montreal, Canada and obtained a Master's degree. My area of research was the role of proteoglycans in atherosclerosis. In 1993 I started residency in pathology at Nassau County Medical Center, New York which was affiliated with SUNY at Stony Brook. I completed this residency in 1998 and got certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. In 1999 I got the certification and fellowship of the Royal College of Canada in general pathology.
